This is my final data book, containing information on the deliveries received over a week. I printed on brown paper as I decided in earlier experiments, and I am pleased with how this links in with the theme of deliveries.
The book layout is consistent inside, with each page containing one day of data, with a barcode visualisation, and a timeline documenting the times each parcel arrived.
I used stab binding, which has provided durable binding for the exposed edges, and at the opposite side, the folded edges have created a more tactile feel.
The barcodes and QR codes are printed on white sticky paper, which I cut out and rounded the edges to imitate the look and feel of delivery address labels.
Each page has been cut out from an A3 piece of paper, which was printed double sided with black on the inside to make the hole punches stand out.
Overall, I think the ways I have represented my data are appropriate for the theme. If I were to improve, I would experiment further with adding other elements which link to the theme, possibly using some more colour, as all of my type and visual elements are black on white. I would also try and include different materials to give the book more texture and interest. I could have used screen printing to print parts of the book, so this is something I would look into if I improved the book.
